Footage shows the moment a woman was hit with a car during a demonstration in front of Parliament

A woman was seriously injured by a car that crashed in front to Parliament House in Canberra today.

Police say a woman in her 20s was driving south along the Hume Highway when she lost control of her car and struck a truck.

The woman’s body was found about two hours later.

Police believe the woman had a blood alcohol content of 0.2 per cent and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
