Sauconx, a high-end sneaker brand based in Germany, and SauCony, a men’s shoe brand based outside of the United States, both make shoes that are more expensive than they seem.
The company said on Thursday it would begin selling Sauconx sneakers at the start of next year in a partnership with the Swiss footwear company.
The shoes will include new designs, including an updated version of the company’s iconic Running Man series.
“Saucon X shoes are one of the most sought after sneakers in the world and Sauiconx is committed to making them available to the widest audience possible,” SauConx CEO Thomas B. Dallinger said in a statement.
The pair of sneakers are priced at $1,299 and $1 (€1.16) each.
The first batch of 100 pairs of Sauconxs are expected to arrive on Nov. 30.
The sneakers are also available in men’s sizes, including a size 8 (7.2 cm) and 9 (7 cm).
“With the introduction of the Sauxx sneakers, we are further extending our partnerships with Sauconxes to allow our customers to experience the full Saucon experience on the go,” SauconX president Christian Köpple said in the statement.
Saucomix, which was founded in 2002, is one of Europe’s biggest online retailers and is one among several online shoe retailers to join in the effort to get its sneakers into stores.
Sauconx said it was also working with Saucomix to get more people to try Saucon X sneakers.
“It’s a great way to showcase the world’s best high-quality shoes at an affordable price,” Saucx co-founder Thomas Scheck said in an interview with Reuters.
“Our goal is to offer our customers a truly amazing experience on a budget, no matter where they live.”
Sauccomix launched in April and said it is the only online shoe store to sell sneakers in both men’s and women’s sizes.
It is not clear whether other shoe retailers will join in on the collaboration.
