Woman who killed boyfriend in car accident is released from prison

A Georgia woman who killed her boyfriend in a crash that left her with two broken arms has been released from jail.

The incident occurred in a suburban Atlanta suburb on the night of Nov. 2, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

Police said the incident started when Brittany Smith, 27, was driving her car when her boyfriend, 25-year-old Ryan Coyle, hit a curb and slammed into her vehicle.

The car she was driving hit a utility pole and then rolled down the side of a hill and slammed head-on into a brick wall.

Coyle died at the scene.

Smith was charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter, aggravated vehicle assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
